Our client, a world leader in design innovation technology, offers a newly created position within its growing legal department.  This attorney would take responsibility for litigation, license compliance and enforcement matters in the Americas. 

Basic Duties and Responsibilities:

·  Directing and supervising the strategy and defense of commercial litigation and License Compliance (anti-piracy) matters in the Americas.

·  Support, develop, implement and oversee License Compliance programs in the Americas, including: devising License Compliance campaign strategies; leading enforcement, legalization and anti-piracy efforts; managing sales channel and working with sales representatives; participating in Business Software Alliance committee meetings; coordinating with enforcement authorities (e.g. the FBI) in criminal enforcement matters; counsel business group, executives and other members of senior management; help ensure effective communication and coordination of License Compliance enforcement policies and efforts to the company worldwide

Qualifications

·  At least 5 years IP litigation or general litigation experience, preferably in the software/information technology industry.

·  Ability to formulate creative, practical legal and business solutions and to play strong, positive roles on multiple business management teams with minimal supervision.

·  Mature, proven sound judgment with good communication and multicultural interpersonal skills.

·  Ability to manage support staff and outside counsel in diverse legal and cultural environments.

·  Willingness to travel.

·  USPTO not required, but Cal bar required

·  Will consider law firm or in-house candidates
