Our client, the world leader in design innovation technology, seeks an experienced attorney to manage the company’s intellectual property matters.  Reporting to the General Counsel, the successful candidate will have at least 15 years of broad-based intellectual property experience including both IP litigation management and IP transactional matters.  This position will have responsibility in the following areas: oversee the company’s intellectual property litigation strategy; management of the company’s intellectual property portfolio to leverage the company’s intellectual property assets and to advance and protect the company’s interests; manage technology licensing and intellectual property aspects of M&A activity; work closely with senior management to further develop, implement and adapt the company’s intellectual property strategy consistent with evolving technologies, business dynamics and legal environments; manage and mentor department and other company staff on patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and licensing matters; and provide on-going advice on legislative and policy developments that might impact the value of the company’s intellectual property assets.

The successful candidate will combine the appropriate experience with the ability to function independently, manage a team of legal and business professionals, work as a team player, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Experience advising software industry companies will be particularly helpful.
