Our client, one of the world’s largest and most successful investment managers is seeking to hire an experienced investment management/fund attorney to add to its growing and prestigious legal department.
The successful candidate will have 8-12 years of relevant experience in a major law firm and/or in the legal department of a leading organization. Significant experience in asset management, investment products and related regulatory issues, including ’40 Act experience, is required. Responsibilities include providing legal advice and consultation, focusing on a variety of legal issues relating to mutual funds and other structured asset management products, including exchange traded funds. This lawyer will also directly manage business relationships and communicate regularly with senior management regarding legal and business risks.
Specific responsibilities include: address complex issues demonstrating broad knowledge, critical thinking and experience in asset management; supervise, manage and guide other attorneys while remaining an active practitioner; partner and provide strategic guidance to business groups; participate in creating and implementing new products; foster strong working relationships with business people; manage, in conjunction with business support groups, external counsel to deliver cost-effective results; and coordinate with the compliance group.
The successful candidate must possess a collaborative approach. He/She must also have the creativity, vision and mature judgment to make decisions with less than perfect information and be willing to “roll up one’s sleeves” to get the job done.
